Hey Look, There's Robert Dinero

"Beach Rocks in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico"

On various occasions throughout my travels, I have encountered several real-life celebrities.  This includes Hulk Hogan, Richard Simmons and the late Gregory Hines.  However, on countless other occasions, I have had the opportunity to encounter ordinary people who have a striking resemblance to other well-known celebrities. The list includes such popular actors as Jacques Cousteau and 007 himself, Sean Connery. However, there is one encounter that I will never forget. As customary, while vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with a friend of mine, we sought to go on a guided tour of the city. We scanned the crowd of tour guides seeking a friendly face that we felt comfortable selecting as our guide.  It quickly became clear which one we were going to select. As we looked in his direction, he looked at us with big smile on is face. If Robert Dinero had a Spanish doppelgänger (look-alike), Armando was him!   We walked up to him and he quickly introduced himself.  “Hello, my name is amarndo!” he said. “Hello Armando, it’s a pleasure to meet you! Say, has anyone ever told you that you look like Robert Dinero?” Armando immediately struck a pose that made it abundantly clear that he gets questions like that often. We could not have asked for a nicer tour guide than Armando.  He knew the area like the back of his hand, including the expression shown. While on the tour, he even offered to carry my camera gear.  He was an absolute joy and a pleasure to be around!  A year later, we returned to Puerto Vallarta. Having gotten his business card before leaving on the prior visit, I contacted Armando beforehand to have him as our guide once more.. This go-round was just as enjoyable as the first and Armando was certainly a big part of it!
